Keep Your Child Safe, Healthy & Happy This Rainy Season | Kidz Villa Play School & Day Care
Rainy Season Safety for Children
The rainy season is a refreshing time of the year. Children enjoy the cool weather, green surroundings, and the sound of raindrops. However, the monsoon also brings slippery roads, mosquitoes, waterborne diseases, and seasonal infections. Therefore, rainy season safety for children becomes an important responsibility for every parent.
At Kidz Villa Play School & Day Care, we believe that a safe child is a happy learner. Our teachers and staff work closely with parents to ensure that every child stays healthy, comfortable, and protected throughout the rainy season. Here are some simple yet effective monsoon safety tips every family should follow.
1. Send Your Child in Clean and Dry School Uniform

Children should always wear a clean and dry school uniform. If it is raining, parents should provide a raincoat or umbrella while travelling to school. Keeping an extra pair of socks and a small towel in the school bag is also helpful. Wet clothes can make children uncomfortable and increase the chances of catching seasonal illnesses.
2. Teach Good Hand Hygiene

The rainy season is the time when germs spread quickly. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap before eating, after using the washroom, and after outdoor activities. Good hygiene reduces the risk of cough, cold, stomach infections, and other common illnesses.
At Kidz Villa Play School & Day Care, handwashing is a daily habit that every child follows under teacher supervision.
3. Pack Healthy Food in the Lunch Box

A nutritious lunch helps children build strong immunity. Parents should include fresh fruits, vegetables, paneer, eggs, sprouts, lentils, whole grains, and homemade snacks in the lunch box.
Avoid oily, spicy, uncovered, or roadside food during the rainy season. Healthy eating keeps children energetic and protects them from infections.
4. Keep Your Child Hydrated

Many parents think children do not need much water during the rainy season. However, proper hydration is equally important in every season. Always send a clean water bottle filled with safe drinking water. Drinking enough water supports digestion and keeps children active throughout the day.
5. Protect Children from Mosquitoes

Rainwater often collects around homes and buildings, creating breeding places for mosquitoes. Empty stagnant water regularly and keep the surroundings clean. If needed, dress children in full-sleeved clothing during outdoor activities and use child-safe mosquito protection.
6. Choose Safe Footwear

Children should wear shoes with a good grip to prevent slipping on wet surfaces. Dry shoes and socks properly after returning home to avoid fungal infections and maintain foot hygiene.
7. Inform the School if Your Child Is Unwell

If your child has fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhoea, or any contagious illness, please allow them to rest at home and inform the school. This helps protect other children and supports your child’s quick recovery.
