The celebration began with a special morning assembly where teachers shared stories from Mahatma Gandhi’s life. Simple tales like how Gandhi Ji always spoke the truth or how he lived with simplicity helped children relate to his values in a way they could understand.
2. Role Play and Fancy Dress
Children dressed up as Gandhi Ji and participated in role play. Seeing their friends dressed in khadi caps, round spectacles, and simple attire sparked curiosity and excitement. Through role play, kids learned about Gandhi Ji’s lifestyle and values in a fun manner.
3. Art and Craft Activities
Little ones created spinning wheels (charkha), doves of peace, and Gandhi Ji sketches during craft sessions. These activities not only built creativity but also gave children a chance to learn by doing. The crafts were proudly displayed in classrooms to mark the celebration.
4. Bhajans and Patriotic Songs
Children sang Gandhi Ji’s favorite bhajans like “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” along with patriotic songs. Music created a peaceful environment and made the celebration more memorable.
5. Planting Saplings – Teaching Simplicity and Care
To spread Gandhi Ji’s message of simplicity and love for nature, children participated in planting small saplings. This activity encouraged responsibility, care for the environment, and respect for simple living.
